Good conceptually but misses the mark
This app when compared to the parental support you get from Windows is amazing. But because parental control is what the app and the service promise it still fails in a lot of ways.
First fail, navigation away from the app! It seems like every other time I need to do something I am redirected to the Verizon wireless home page and the app doesnt even authenticate me. What was the point of logging in my credentials to be redirected to the website and asked yet again for my credentials.
Second fail, setting data limits and time limits is way too confusing and should be done basically from the same screen. Makes no sense to have to click (or in this case press) all over the screen and go back to set up two of the most important things for parents which are time limits and data usage limits.
Third fail, the approved contacts is much easier to use in the app then it ever was on the website but it doesnt work. When my daughter is "in school", I cannot text her or iMessage her even though Im obviously on the approved contacts list. This should be fixed ASAP.
Fourth fail, this app should be unnecessary because this feature should be offered as an integrated feature from Verizon wireless and should just be a part of the my Verizon app.
Fifth fail, when the usage is blocked it does not lock down wireless basically making the whole thing ineffective. Turn of the wireless when the time limit has been reached. Otherwise most of the features are pointless.
Sixth fail, iMessages... I have no idea if text messages summaries include iMessages, I dont think they do. Epic fail. Basically the summary provided only provides half of the relevant information in that case.
